Ashley Palmer, LCPC, CCTP Founder of ChairCare+ |Licensed Therapist | Former Hairstylist
‘Mental health care that travels from the salon chair to the board room’

Before becoming a therapist, Ashley spent over a decade behind the chair as an Afro-textured hairstylist and educator. Her work in the salon deeply influenced her understanding of emotional wellness, self-image, and the power of safe, affirming spaces. Listening to clients share their stories sparked her passion for helping others heal, particularly those navigating identity, beauty, and belonging.

That experience became the foundation for her transition into mental health. Today, Ashley is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and advocate for liberation-centered care. Through ChairCare+, she bridges her two worlds—beauty and mental health—by equipping stylists, barbers, estheticians, makeup artists, and beauty educators with the knowledge and confidence to support both their clients’ and their own well-being.
Ashley’s work is rooted in a trauma-informed, liberation-focused framework that honors community care, authenticity, and healing in all spaces, especially those where transformation begins, from the salon chair to the boardroom.
